What does the course consist of?
IFC is a file format standard, ISO standard since 2013 and ratified by UNE in April 2020 (UNE-EN ISO 16739-1:2020), which is increasingly demanded by developers and Public Administrations in the bidding documents as a BIM deliverable.
In this course we will address the control and use of BIM models in ifc format both from the perspective of the developer and from the perspective of the user of the models for other issues such as obtaining data as well as from the perspective of the project manager who requires to have a BIM deliverable in ifc format correctly verified.
Is this course suitable for me?
This course is useful for all those agents who are involved in contracts that require the application of BIM methodology and whose requirements include the request for BIM models in IFC format.
If you are currently receiving models in IFC format but do not know how to view or review them, this course is appropriate for you.
What will I learn in this course?
In this course you will learn what the ifc format is, what it is for, how to find information about ifc, in which formats and versions to export, as well as how to view, edit, verify and get information from models in this format. You will also learn through guided practice how to use two practical tools that are widely used with ifc models: BIM Vision (Datacomp) and Usbim.Viewer (ACCA Software), as well as other tools that can be used with ifc models, such as BIM Vision (Datacomp) and Usbim.Viewer (ACCA Software).
